Evening all, especially to anyone who might remember me. Maybe no-one.
I haven't been near this game for about 10 years but still has the same feel and looks good. Glad to see its still going strong.
Can still vividly remember the two times I ever got podded but can't remember all those I dished out. Though one or two I still remember well. But the games changed quite a bit since then and what I used to do probably wouldn't work anymore.
Anyway, hello to anyone who cares and enjoy the game.

Found a little web page if anyone is interested in the old days of SM. Quite a good read.

In those days probably the best hunters were in an alliance called the Unforgiven and mostly they were Australians. I, being a kiwi, would regularly meet up with them while the mostly US players were all safely tucked up in bed in real life and do planet raids. Neat bunch of guys and great fun.
Seems it was about Feb 1999 when I last played (I moved town to a place where I had no computer). That was in the middle of the famine game that is talked about at that address above. Parked the old Death Cruiser up in fed space and just slipped away.
I don't think I'll play again, sometimes its just best to let a sleeping dog lie.

TU was more than just the aussies - the original australian alliance was Ork Deth Boyz if I remember correctly. Incidentally, I met Rogue at the first SM convention in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Hi Blum. Now theres an old name I remember. Not too many but theres a few about. Even got an ingame flame from someone I podded 9 years ago :-)
I see DudeMan mentioned occasionally. Is he still playing? Taught me alot in the old days and we did some nice hits together.

I have a distant memory of podding Tempest but its a bit vague. {Tempest} Message me what you remember of it and I'll see if it comes fully back. Maybe we'll lock horns again?

Forget the exact circumstances..but Tempus did something so the admins awarded him with...a ....cloaked FU???? Why is my memory so hazy? Other part of me says a DC with jump..yet the other part says PSF with jump....I think it was a cloaked FU though.

Tempus got a cloaked FU for "winning" Arms Race (no-one actually won, but he was closest with - I believe - 2 of the 3 weapon parts).
Note, in those days the FU was the top ship - there were no racial warships

If my memory serves me right, it was 3 in 7 which he kept on his thief for most of the game....
