In two games now (draft game & present main game), planet attacks have been bugged, the bugs have been fixed with no announcement, and the first player to proceed with immediate planet busts (and get kills) is PV. This is scandalous and unacceptable abuse of power, and IMO warrants an immediate game ban and withdrawal of admin priveleges.

draft game did i play draft game no. And now second it was at least 6 hours after the bug was fixed did we do this and it is not like we walked into your galaxy and busted your planets noooo...we were in ours takin our planets back which sterling and company seeded....so then i attack the planet and to my suprise the idoits parked on a planet in our galaxy
what am i to think "wow they are stupid to abuse the no planet attack bug like that" now come on who was the one who abused it who was the one who was stupid and stayed in our galaxy.

IMO anyone stupid enough to go and try busting a planet with minimal turns and finds out they cant and stays on it instead claiming they were out of turns deserves to be podded for being an idiot to even go there when they cant get out...

I think it's more an issue of doing the right thing as an ADMIN and announcing that a bug has been fixed to all the players. Just waiting for people to try it and see if it's fixed (which sounds like what happened) isn't enough.

In any case, it doesn't matter if it was you or anohter admin in the draft game, we are talking about this game now, and you simply cannot put in a fix like this practically unannounced and then proceed to abuse it.
If the bug had been fixed for 6 hours, why was the fix announcement put out as a sidenote in the errors thread 40 minutes before your bust?! That is interestingly enough just about long enough to get your people together for your bust!
Something with this kind of impact on gameplay must be universally announced before being put in, and players on planets must be given newbie turns when it is put in. You fixed this, then went chasing cheap kills. Totally unacceptable.

im sorry did i not say hey here are the errors in the game they will be fixed and when that error came up those others hadnt been fixed and finally spock and azool got on and got them done your right maybe an announcement would have been nice but then again it was 2 am for me....maybe azool should have done that when he was on... you werent on anyway so it didnt matter....and what leave your two buddies sittin on a planet....not very leader like sterling....but im done keep complaining because hey u are only tryin to ban the only active admin u got the only one who gets ahold of spock and azool when there are problems....and there would be no problem if u werent sittin in our galaxy we werent about to cheat and go into yours.

Hmm so some people found out there was a planet attack bug and decided to park on planets to take advantage of this bug and park in safety... then the bug is fixed and they are killed and they compain about it?
You got what you deserved, give it a rest.

That is the whole argument. Both parties were at fault for 1) Abusing the bug and 2) Abusing the fix. Abusing the bug meaning going into an enemy territory, parking there (knowing) it can not be busted and by abusing the fix is the retaliation of one alliance because the fix was done and there was no prior warning to the fix being implemented other than Admin talking to admin. If any bans are handed out, all 3 hunters? that died on the planet should be banned + those invovled in the knowing of the release of the fix (PV + whoever got the kills).

And, before this becomes a riot, this thread needs to be locked and this needs to be delt in PRIVATE like it is suppose to be. Otherwise, it looks like a bunch of people trying to cover their butts.... and to be honest, ardbeg, this isn't the appropriate medium to be posting such allogations. This should be dealt internally within spock/azool and the administration team - PV (since he is involved). If you want a ban, might as well have yourself banned for posting this. :-)

Just FYI i was on when it happened its not like pv went there to kill anyone he went there alone to reclaim planet then he found the 3 of them on the planet and asked anyone in chat that had turns to ship up for the fight. so if i had turns and i would of changed into a wb i would be ban for this??its sounds like BS to me.

ok. wonna make a statement:
if there is such a serious bug please for god sake inform me on icq. i can't sit in chat all day. if i would i'd be idle for 99% of the time so i see no point in it. would people just ;) of more. anyway. you all know my icq number. it's attached to my profile. i'm online 20 hours a day. if i'm at a computer you can for sure reach me.
so for immediate actions PLEASE talk to me on icq. you are more than welcome.
i talked to PV. he said he's sorry. please, i beg you drop it. pv is one of my most active and longest admin. i cannot ban him or SMR goes downhill (even more). everyone does a mistake from time to time. we are all human. if someone is to blame pplease bame me for the missing announcement.
we had soo many code changes lately it's hard to keep track what has gone to live and what hasn't. we are back in active coding.
if you have any more concerns about that please bring it to me (and me only) on icq. no webboard bashing.
