Post Admin abuse (this discussion is not over)
Not only were the forum threads locked to prevent further discussion of this abuse, but now we see a login message telling us all how PV was right and the rest of us are wrong! This is propoganda of the worst sort - the players get silenced, and an admin posts a biased message that everyone has to read!!

I object strongly to PV's threats to leave the game and how it will all go downhill because of it. A real admin would not use his position to blackmail & threaten Spock/Azool and the players that way - a real admin would try to deal with the issue the fairest way possible. IMO, a situation like this that does not result in action is such a major problem for the game that it is much worse than losing PV. If this is not acted upon, I for one will not be playing this game.

We all know, that when something like this is fixed, it is standard procedure to give newbie turns to avoid anyone getting an unfair advantage. As it is, it was quietly fixed, no newbies were given, and an admin took advantage of it.

Let's look at the facts: In the draft game, the PB bug was fixed, PV "forgot" to announce the fix, and HC with their admin member came out and busted AoE. In this game, the PB bug was fixed, it was very quietly posted a considerable time after the fix, and PV came out and busted at the same time as the announcement - thus giving no-one the opportunuty to adjust to the new game situation.

This is blatant and unforgiveable abuse - if PV plays this game, then I don't.

Then don't play Ardbeg.

You're plea for newbie turns is laughable. If you park on a planet you know that could die at any time, you aren't safe, unless that is you know and choose to use a bug that prevents someone from attacking the planet.

So either you are parking at your own risk on a planet, or you are knowingly abusing a bug.

this is not about whether or not Sterling and friends were stupid, it is about the ensuing abuse by an admin. Stay on topic please.

Is this not part of your topic? If so then why is it in your post?

ok. wonna make a statement:
if there is such a serious bug please for god sake inform me on icq. i can't sit in chat all day. if i would i'd be idle for 99% of the time so i see no point in it. would people just **** of more. anyway. you all know my icq number. it's attached to my profile. i'm online 20 hours a day. if i'm at a computer you can for sure reach me.
so for immediate actions PLEASE talk to me on icq. you are more than welcome.
i talked to PV. he said he's sorry. please, i beg you drop it. pv is one of my most active and longest admin. i cannot ban him or SMR goes downhill (even more). everyone does a mistake from time to time. we are all human. if someone is to blame pplease bame me for the missing announcement.
we had soo many code changes lately it's hard to keep track what has gone to live and what hasn't. we are back in active coding.
if you have any more concerns about that please bring it to me (and me only) on icq. no webboard bashing.

thanks for understanding and your ongoing support.

Read it ardbeg. He says "no webboard bashing". Just drop the damn subject and talk to him on ICQ. Quit whining because it is getting you no where but down.

This topic is important enough that I'll take the ban in order to keep the discussion going. This kind of abuse by admins has to be made public, and is something that can kill a game stone dead if it is not addressed. These attempts to focus on whether or not the parkers did anything wrong are totally irrelevant (deal with those seperately if you feel it is justified) and have no bearing whatsoever on the fact that PV abused the information he had available as an admin to get an advantage ingame! This cannot and must not be allowed to slide......

I don't see any pure abuse. It was 3 people in an enemy galaxy. Ardbeg, use logic. Had PV even NOT known about the bug being fixed, he could have had men over the planet just waiting for it to be fixed. It was a gamble to EVEN SIT THERE. You are in an enemy galaxy. End of story. You are in an enemy galaxy... it is totally irrelevant that the bug was fixed. Maybe there should have been a 12 hour warning before the bug was fixed, but by that time, too many people would have abused the bug (IE, you!)

So, think of it this way. It was a HUGE GAMBLE to sit there. the bug could have been fixed at ANY time of the day. ANYONE could have gotten THOSE KILLS at any time... and I need to stop hitting my caps... Anyways, it was illogical to park there regardless if there was a bug. Knowing it was a bug, and parking there, just leads to the fact of bug abuse! Mmmk, *lock thread and just leave it be*

ardbeg, really, who do you think you are to come here question decisions made by the owner of this game, violating all the rules in the process??
rules are clear, if you want to report some abuse, you do it in the apropriate channels, in a private discussion to another admin, or to spock directely.
besides, you are already violating board rules, from which you are a moderator...

when you display your cocky atitude towards other players, i laugh, but when you think you can act as you please, independantly of rules...

...so, we need to choose between you and pv? by all means, don't let the door hit you on your way out!!

This thread is locked, if you have issues bring it up with the admins in private channels. They've made their call on the situation.
